ENGAGEMENT RINGS
Ivaan's breathtaking talent shows through in the metal of his rings. He used gemstones sparingly and when he used diamonds, they were punctuation marks adorning a masterpiece. He chose diamonds of modest, elegant proportions, but excellent quality only. Ivaan also loved to work with emeralds and rubies, so he could indulge his taste for stones of a particular breathtaking hue.
What Ivaan loathed was the idea of an engagement ring as a mere vehicle for holding a gemstone that was simply a commodity. He called them "a slice of pipe with a stone in it". If all a prospective client cared about was a stone of a particular size or price tag, Ivaan simply declined to make the ring, because he knew that this was an individual who did not appreciate art.
Ivaan also disdained the idea of an engagement ring costing three weeks' or three months' salary, or whatever the advertising standard was. His engagement rings have always been beautiful and moderately priced. All of them are also available without stones, for the Ivaan purists in the world.
