"As my mother's graceful hand moved to and fro with her conversation, my five-year-old eyes followed her large, green diamond ring as it dipped and swirled. To me my mother's ring that was the most beautiful, most glamorous, and most exquisite piece of jewellery I had ever seen. Of course, I didn't realize that the ring was costume jewellery  and that the 'green diamond' was nothing more than a piece of cheap glass. When my mother wore that ring, I thought she was a movie star.

Fast forward almost 50 years. A chance encounter with Eya online results in a lunchtime visit to Atelier Ivaan. As I savoured Eya's delicious lunch and the promise of a new friendship, I took time to admire some of Ivaan's gallery pieces. I almost fell over when I saw the most stunning 'green diamond' ring in the showcase. I was immediately drawn to the ring's rugged green crystal-like stone and delicate silver setting. It was love at first sight. As I placed Ivaan's one-of-a-kind treasure on my finger, I was instantly transported back in time. My hand had magically become my mother's hand.
